Through my practice I am committed to guiding individuals, couples, and families through counseling services that encompass a wide variety of issues, including:
A significant part of my theoretical orientation is based on attachment theory and family systems. I believe that family history, specifically the relationships formed with primary caregivers early in life, greatly impacts not only the development of ineffective coping mechanisms, but also the treatment and healing from these struggles.
I believe that evidence-based treatment modalities are the key to achieving the healing and clarity that individuals struggling with mental health crises crave. I have an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, and have worked in a variety of clinical settings. These include outpatient SUD treatment settings, a DBT practice in St. Louis, private practice, and have collaborated with inpatient treatment centers all over the country.
I have training in and strive to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) with my clients whenever possible. With the help of therapy built on evidence-based techniques, I’m confident that overcoming one’s obstacles with an acceptance of reality and a new perspective on life is possible. When you’re able to establish a new perspective and draw from your inherent inner strengths, long-term change can occur.
