They’re serious mental health conditions that act as coping mechanisms to deal with underlying problems in dangerous ways. · Labeling foods “safe” or “unsafe”
· Anxiety when eating “normally”
· Hearing “fat” when someone says “you look healthy”

Many people think that an alcoholic or addict is someone who consumes alcohol or uses drugs every day. In reality, alcoholism and substance use disorder (SUD) rarely present themselves in the way that we see them portrayed in movies and TV shows. While an individual struggling with alcohol or substance abuse may not drink every day, when they do drink, it’s always in excess—once they start, they can’t stop. Other signs of SUD include:
· Concerns from family and friends
· Difficulties in personal and professional relationships
· Wanting to stop, but not being able to
· Obsessing over getting next drink or drug
You shouldn’t have to tackle sobriety alone. Addiction often stems from underlying conditions that make getting sober difficult if they’re not also addressed. With this in mind, I will guide you through a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific mental health needs, while giving you the tools to win the battle with addiction, one step at a time.
